Black Lives Matter Tried To Stop Fans From Going To The Super Bowl… It Did Not Go Well For Them

Black Lives Matter tried to stop Football fans from seeing the Super Bowl. Not a very smart idea. They held signs and shirts saying “You Can’t Play With Black Lives.” Is the message that we shouldn’t be hiring black people to play sports?

“Activists are using this moment to stand with athletes who have protested throughout the past two football seasons calling attention to the murder of Black people by police and to the City of Minneapolis’ banning city residents from using public transit without a Super Bowl ticket,” said the news station KTSP-TV.

“Our chapter in Minneapolis has shut down the green line light rail to highlight the dark side of the Super Bowl as endangers community members and makes the city less accessible. Only Super Bowl ticket holders have access to the light rail so the team SHUT IT DOWN,” wrote one twitter account associated with the movement. But then the police came and stopped the protestors.

Black Lives Matter put out a message before the Super Bowl warning black people to avoid the police. “Black Lives Matter Minnesota has issued a travel alert, effective today, for African Americans and other people of color traveling to St. Paul, Minnesota for Super Bowl 52 events or other purposes, to warn African Americans and people of color to exercise caution as safety and well-being risks may be presented by St. Paul Police and/or St. Paul Police K9,” they wrote.

“The St. Paul police department is the deadliest department in the state of Minnesota, killing more people annually than any other department in the state. African Americans and other people of color are especially at risk,” they wrote.
